Cloudy, clarified and pulp-containing juice
Treat liquid appearance and retained solids as a product decision.
Cloud is not automatically a defect
Some juice products intentionally retain a cloudy appearance. Define the wanted suspended fraction, stability observations and sensory result. Do not add clear-juice clarification because it appears in a generic process diagram.
Finishing versus clarification
A finishing duty controls coarse or unwanted fractions at a particular separation boundary. Clarification targets a clear product and may need product-specific pretreatment and separation. Describe the output method and acceptance criterion for each.
Retain the edible pulp deliberately
Specify pulp or particles using a repeatable sample method. Check the maximum dimensions and behaviour through pumps, valves, heat exchangers and filling equipment. A screen label alone is not the final liquid specification.
Keep other dimensions separate
A cloudy or clear stream may be processed as direct juice or sent for concentration if the chosen system supports it. Its clarity does not establish whether it is NFC, from concentrate or a formulated drink.
